The Meerkat Prize

The Alastair Barnes Prize for Curiosity and Tenacity capped by Enthusiasm is awarded at Selborne College‘s annual prize-giving ceremony to a Grade 10 pupil who displays all these qualities.

Every year, Alastair – a Selborne old boy – welcomes the recipient of this prize (accompanied by a school master) into his home for a week to offer valuable insights into life, creativity and philosophy. Read more here.

Rhodesian Soldier ~ sculpture for sale

I have recently produced a piece entitled Rhodesian Soldier, to coincide with the RLI (Rhodesian Light Infantry) 50th Jubilee Birthday Celebrations, commemorating and celebrating the soldiers (nicknames ‘The Saints’ or ‘The Incredibles’) who have fought and fallen since the Infantry’s inception in February 1961.

This statue is cast and hand finished in solid bronze.

He is 470mm high and weighs 7.5kgs (18.5inches and 16.88lbs).

The plinth is of old Hard wood and stands an additional 50mm high, weighing approx 1kg extra. The soldier on his plinth will be shipped in a proper wooden carrying case.

For more information, please feel free to contact me.
